Collaboration with WOLFATTIRE

July 5, 2017

Who doesn’t love wearing graphic/ printed T-shirts? I was always a fan of wearing graphic tees since college. You know when I am out, I still have this common fascination of reading quotes on people’s t-shirt. You get to know one of the qualities of the individual with the help of the graphic printed on the T-shirt. E.g. I have seen guys/ girls wearing T-shirt on which it’s printed ‘Lazy’/ ‘Not a Morning Person’ / Traveler/ Adventurous etc.

Today’s post is about my collaboration & shopping experience with this new brand WOLFATTIRE. Last week, I was just scrolling down posts on Instagram, and I noticed this particular brand. I went to their Instagram page, and was amazed to see the t-shirts with cool quotes/ graphics that I can relate to it completely. I am a big time coffee addict, I saw this tee which I am wearing in the below picture and decided to go on their website www.wolfattire.com to buy it.

After visiting their website, I went through all the pages for both Men & Women section to check their T-shirt collection. My buying experience was hassle free because of the live chat box provision on their website. I was confused about their size chart, hence on the live chat I raised this question, and the representative answered and solved my query within few seconds. I ordered their T-shirt and got their parcel within a week. I am happy happy!!

The T-shirt fabric is thick and soft. So quality wise they won my heart.

There are ‘Wolfattire T-shirts’ printed as ‘Haters Gonna Hate’, ‘Nap Queen’ , ‘Trust me you can dance – Vodka’ , ‘Selfie’ written in Hindi, ‘#OOTD’,  ‘Stay Positive’ which are worth buying as per your personality.

Log on to their website www.wolfattire.com and explore their wonderful collection!

Office Essentials For Men - My Styling Project 1

June 11, 2017

Hello People,

Today's blog is about my styling project which I did it for Ameya Wakaskar. I have styled Ameya in three different corporate outfits, making sure it's affordable fashion for him, keeping it simple yet smart.

Outfit no. 1 - Checks Shirt with well- fitted trousers

Checks pattern - Be it small / wide, it is everyone's favourite. Tip : Belt and Shoes colour keep it same.

Outfit no. 2 : Plain Shirt with Cotton Trousers

There are lot of options available in Brands for Cotton Trousers of different colours. So combine any plain shirt with cotton trousers and you are good to go. In the below look, Ameya is wearing a plain white shirt with Navy blue cotton trouser.

Outfit no. 3 : Printed Shirt with Contrasting Trousers

This is my favourite look as it looks very stylish. I like Men wearing shirts crafted with distinct prints with contrasting trousers. The same look is created for Ameya in the below picture. He is wearing dotted blue shirt with grey trouser, making him look classy. He can carry this look after his office hours too if he wants to hangout with his friends or attend a family function.

Do comment below if you like the corporate look created for Ameya.

My Hair Extension by BBLUNT

April 19, 2017

Hi Guys,

Being a blogger, I have to keep trying different stuffs so that I can share my experience with you all. In my previous blog in which I did my hair makeover, I had mentioned that I always wished for long hair. And the good news is my wish came true. All thanks to BBLUNT B Long, Length and Volume Clip. You can see my pic below, well it seems like my real hair but it’s not and I am in love with the hair extension. You can get length and volume so quickly once you clip it right.

Pros:

  1. You can style it the way you want and it comes in different shades like dark brown, black, natural brown, light brown so you can choose the color accordingly.
  2. It is light in weight so you don’t feel burden on your head after you clip it.
  3. For some hair types like mine, it looks natural, but for some it might not look natural as it’s made up of synthetic fibre. So try it before buying it.
  4. I feel it’s worth the price which is Rs. 3300 because it gives both length and volume and it’s from a trusted brand.

Cons:

  1. I have to wash the extensions with shampoo in order to keep it clean. The extension clips should be removed carefully from the hair so that the natural hair doesn’t get pulled, hence in my view this product is for occasional use.

I will always recommend my readers to try products before purchasing it. You can visit any BBLUNT salon, and they are very kind enough to let you first try the extensions on you and then decide. They also teach you how to clip it and how to take care of the extensions.

I would love to thank BBLUNT for launching a gorgeous range of hair extensions. You can also buy the products of BBLUNT from http://www.nykaa.com.

Non Parsi living a Parsi lifestyle

April 7, 2017

This blog post is dedicated to my Parsi family who welcomed a Non Parsi with open arms.

The first thing I asked Farhad after he realized that I am the one, “Hello wait, are your parents going to accept me?” His quick reply was “why not?”  He had confidence on his parents, and I had confidence on his commitment towards me.

One day, I decided to meet my future-in-laws. I remember it was Farhad’s birthday, and I went to his place to celebrate. His mom already knew from Farhad off course that I love to eat non-veg, and she prepared mag ni daar and gosht nu kheemo for me. Months passed by and with their love and attachment, I got close to my future in-laws before marriage.

Then the family meetings started to take place, as our engagement date got fixed as per Parsi calendar. In those meets, Farhad’s mom and sister used to explain the Parsi rituals to my sister- in-law. It was quite exciting for my family to follow different custom, as all these years we only followed the Hindu tradition. I was taken to Grant Road to buy a beautiful Red Gara Saree for my engagement. The entire journey was special for both the families. My MIL had already started to speak with me in Gujarati so that I get used to the language. I am sure you guys would want to know how my engagement took place, so below is the link that you will love to see the snapshots of FK’s Engagement.

The only inner guilt feeling I had marrying a Parsi was their skin color. As per my observation, fair skin tone is a default setting in Parsis.  I being a Bengali, I am dusky and I am happy about it. But whenever I used to tell someone after marriage that I am married to a Parsi, and the reaction used to be, Oh! But you don’t look like a Parsi. After that experience, I have slightly changed my statement, I am a Bengali and married to a Parsi. With experience in life you learn haha...

Leaving the judgmental people talks behind, let’s continue about my Parsi lifestyle. You can check mine and Farhad’s marriage and reception snapshots in the below link to know how beautifully the wedding process took place.

After marriage, I experienced another birth, learning what, why, how of Parsi customs. My in-laws patiently taught me everything.

Within one year, I learnt the language, and the best part is my confidence raised when I started getting compliments in family functions that I speak good Gujarati (Parsi tone). My MIL taught me the importance of Roj as per Parsi calendar, every weekend she teach me how to make Parsi food. I am proud to announce that I am expert in making Chicken Farcha, Sali per edu, Akuri, Sali kheema etc. I have seen my MIL making Dhanshak, but haven’t tried yet.  I also put lovely chalk at the entrance and do Divo when my in laws are out of station. Every Friday, my mom makes me eat the black chana and sakhar which she keeps it near Dadaji’s photo.

In the Navjote ceremony which we attended, my mom had explained me the process. I still have to understand the wedding rituals but that I can only learn when someone close in the family is getting married. Eventually I will also understand the ceremonies of the new born or to be mother after I get pregnant. You learn faster with practical experience, don’t you?

In my entire journey after marriage, my in-laws whom I refer as my mom and dad have played a vital role in understanding me and teaching me how much ever they know about Parsi traditions so that I never feel left out in family gatherings/ ceremonies. I just love them.

I have massive respect for the Parsi culture, and hence I was able to adapt to their customs quickly. Obviously, I won’t say I am pro at it but I know it.  During Parsi New Year, I sit in the car ouside the agiary garden and pray for my family. Being a Non Parsi, I have no regrets about not going inside the agairy because of two major reasons, I respect Parsi customs and secondly, it’s my personal belief that God lives within us.

If you get to meet me someday in life, don’t forget to ask me, Khem Che Dikra :)

Yellow Mellow!!

November 1, 2016

Hello Guys,

I had gone for a family vacation to Goa. When I say Goa, it’s the beautiful beaches that comes in mind.  And that's where today's blog post comes into play.

I am beyond excited to share my look. I always pre plan and pack my bags for travels. When packing for a beach vacation, I look for attire which will look pretty on and off the beach. Here I am wearing a nice yellow net top with black shorts. Yellow is eye- catching, fun color which bring life to any outfit. I know most of them are quite conscious to wear this color as it looks too bright. However you can choose shades in yellow like gold, lime, mustard, beige etc.

I would like to share some tips when experimenting with bright colors like yellow:-

Use neutrals or black color to team up with bright colors.

This is a safest option where you can enhance your favorite body parts with bright color and then pair it up with black/ neutral. Bold color tends to highlight and grab attention hence you should wear it strategically.

Combine jewel color with a bright.

When you pair any jewel tones like green, blue, fuchsia color against a bright color, it coordinates well and further elongate the look as the bright color tends to pop up. Sometimes a little touch of bright color can make an outfit look complete.

New Me!!

October 29, 2016

There is nothing exciting than personal makeover in this world to me. Since last 2 months I was thinking to do hair smoothening as I was kind of bored with my wavy hair. Throughout my life I had always craved for long hair and the best option to create an illusion of long hair is hair straightening / hair smoothning. In last 3 to 4 years, I had done hair smoothning and hair keratin treatment which eventually gave me the same look as in the below pic.

My dear husband Farhad introduced me to his friend Taniya Naz who is a well-known celebrity hair stylist. This is one woman who made me believe that I would sooner start loving my natural wavy hair.

Taniya started her journey of becoming a hair dresser since the age of 13. (Gosh! At 13, I might be busy looking after my grade in school). But this beautiful girl was clear about her career goals at such an early age. Interesting, isn’t it?

I went to her for hair smoothening and a haircut which was my plan. She made me realize that if I want to look voguish, I have to go shoulder length, and with my natural wavy hair I can style it to look messy and feminine. Confession – Messy hairstyles are the most convenient and maintenance free. She mentioned about the Ombre hair which is fresh take this season. She showed me on her laptop that how dark brown into caramel ombre is amicable for its natural undertone and it will brighten up my complexion.  Well she is an expert to figure out the right cut for any face shape and hair texture. I thought it’s a worthy idea to quench my thirst.

Ting!! This is my new look…

That's Me and Taniya.

A Parsi Traditional Saree – “GARA”

April 17, 2015

My love for Gara sarees started when my in-laws had taken me out for shopping at a saree shop in town (Mumbai), which specialises in designing Parsi sarees.

Gara is worn on special occasions by Zoroastrians (weddings or Navjote), and it’s recognized as heavy embroidered saree. The saree is known for its fine, complex hand embroidery done by Chinese/ Indian and its extremely high rates. It’s exquisite in person and quiet bulky to wear. It is considered as uncommon fashion trend in saris among Indians. Well, I feel I am very lucky to enter the Parsi clan and grasped the opportunity to wear a lovely red gara on my engagement.

I had no idea about Parsi sarees until I entered the shop. But I was astonished to see inimitable sarees around me. The designer explained me the process of making Gara. I selected a pattern which had elements like birds, leaves, flowers which were connected to each other very magnificently in the design, which was making it look rich and eccentric.

To be Bawi bride...:)
